Gerald (Gerry) Pingree Billeter, 69, passed away on January 31, 2010 in Bountiful, Utah. He succumbed to the ravages of Cirrhosis of the liver. He was born in Salt Lake City, February 28 to Julius C. Billeter and Celeste Pingree Billeter.
Gerry was a proud, faithful and devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served his church and Heavenly Father throughout his life in many ways, including serving a successful mission in the California Mission and fulfilling many callings of responsibility in his Ward and Stake. He volunteered for every opportunity to serve. He enjoyed being a Home Teacher and serving in the High Priest Quorum. He also took pleasure in being a Temple Worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He married Rose Plescia in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Gerry had a successful career in the grocery business including working at Safeway, Food 4 Less, and managing one of the busiest 7-Elevens in Salt Lake. In his later years he worked for Wheeler Machinery.
Gerry is survived by his children, grandchildren and wife, Rose. Also his two sisters, Annamae (Ann) and Ralph Angerbauer and Ruth and Richard Belliston. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Herald and his brother, Bud Billeter.
Funeral services honoring Gerry will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. There will be a viewing at the mortuary between the hours of 11:30 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will take place at Mountain View Mortuary, 7800 South and 3115 East in Salt Lake City after the funeral.
The family would like to express appreciation to the Inn at Barton Creek, Orchard Cove and South Davis Hospice for their loving care of Gerry.
